HISTORY OF THE SAINTS CLUB
The SAINTS Club was established in 1993 by Mrs. Juanita L. White, a longtime member of Young Missionary Temple CME Church. Mrs. White was given a vision to start a ministry that will cater to the senior citizens in our church. She, along with Mrs. Cleo Saulters and Mrs. Cassandra Williams, began to sell homemade crafts and hosted bake sales to underwrite this new ministry.
Mrs. Mildred McCullers was the first president, and the founding members were: Beatrix Flowers, Bill & Laura Chambers, Katie Faison, Edna Hemphill, and Mildred McCullers.
YMT Saints Club Ministry Mission Statement:
Our mission is to honor God by loving, serving, encouraging, and empowering our Saints. We are committed to creating a Christ-centered ministry where seniors can grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, remain active and engaged, and share their God-given gifts and wisdom with others.
Through fellowship, prayer, worship, service, health and wellness activities, and community outreach, we strive to provide a welcoming environment where every Saint feels valued, supported, and loved. Our desire is to inspire our Saints to continue living with purpose, joy, dignity, and faith while being a blessing to others.
We are celebrating over 20 years of ministry, as many of our members have gone on to glory, but God has really blessed us with many more.
Proverbs 23:10a: “remove not the old landmark….,” There fore, let us cherish every moment with our Saints.
Our Saints are well seasoned because of the wisdom God has imparted in them.
