Rev. Angela Denise Hussey Black is a native of Tarboro, North Carolina. She was born on June 18, 1960 in Edgecombe County NC., to the late Robert L. Hussey Sr. and Mrs. Dorothy L. Hussey. She is married to Mitchell Black and together they have a daughter, Tanis Twan Black. 

Rev. Black has been an employee of the North Carolina Dept. of Transportation for 21 years. She has worked in numerous departments during her employment, and currently performs duties as a Quality Assurance Specialist. Besides doing her primary job, she also serves as a committee member for fundraisers to set up for office functions.

Rev. Black has been a member of Young Missionary Temple since 1997. She has served as president of the Stewardess Board and Women’s Fellowship. She has also served on the Usher Board, Cleaning Ministry and Hospitality Committees.

 Rev. Black answered the call to preach and teach the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the year 2005 and preached her initial sermon in July, 2005. In 2007, she was ordained a Local Deacon in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. In 2012, Rev. Black was ordained a Local Elder.
She realizes that her God-given gifts and graces extend beyond the pulpit. She yields herself to be used as a liturgical dancer to minister praise through song and dance. She also serves as a member of YMT’s Drama Ministry to spread the gospel message of God’s love, mercy, and grace through Christian drama.

Rev. Black serves as facilitator/director and instructor for the Daughters of Zion Ministry (DOZ) which began in September 2010. The DOZ is a ministry geared to the development of teenage girls ages 12-18, preparing them to be holy and righteous Women of God. She also serves as an overseer for the Christian Youth Fellowship ministry.

 She enjoys helping all people and rendering words of encouragement for the edification of the body of Christ and those who have lost their way. She is passionate in serving the Lord Jesus Christ and prays for a humble spirit to remain as she journeys forward.
