Revive 2025

Pastor Ronald. L. White Sr.

In the year 2020 "The Covid 19" pandemic had major impact not only on our personal lives, but also on the life of the church. As a result, many "Houses of Worship" and denominations across our nation either closed voluntarily, or were shut down by state mandate. The devastation caused by the Covid crisis left leaders struggling to find ways to serve their already declining congregations. I have learned to look for the positive in all situations. During this period, many churches were challenged to learn and implement alternatives ways to conduct Worship Services, teach bible studies, and communicate with others. The church gratefully accepted the new way forward that technology offered.  However, the negative impact brough forth by the virus was/is still being felt in our congregations. YMT is no exception. Prior to the crises our church was experiencing a major growth spurt. Viewing the services online was something primarily done by sick and shut-in members, or merely a part of the church evangelistic thrust. Currently, many able body people whose gifts and graces were utilized each week to edify the body of Christ now maintain an online presence only. Many churches must now recognize and focus on both the internal and online congregation. As such, the House of God needs to experience a Revival.

 "Lord Revive us Again,"
Our theme for this calendar year is "Revive 2025" taken from Paslm 85:6 which teaches is to pray for the continuance of former mercies while awaiting the new. Lamentations 3:22-23 says: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Our prayers are for the reviving of the body the body of Christ. Our happiness lies in the grace, favor, and mercies of God. The ultimate act of God's grace and mercy was sending His only begotten Son to die in our stead upon an old, rugged cross for our salvation. If we are to be revived, we  all (congregation, and individually) must turn back to God and kingdom building.

If the church is going to experience it's theme "Revive 25" , we must humble ourselves, stop the blame game (i.e., culture, leadership, and technology) for the decline, and begin to ask some earnest questions like: What are we doing wrong? Where is change needed? Humility allows our church to keep an open mind in charting a path forward.

The church must also recognize who we are in Christ Jesus and get back to the basics. Everyone must remember what we are called to do and who we are called to be. When a building shifts from its foundation, the fall is inevitable. Serving God in this present age must remain our goal. Now is the time to rededicate ourselves and commit our best to the Lord.

The final thing the Church needs to do is Ask. (James 4:2b ~ ye have not, because ye ask not.) Therefore, the church is asking for anyone who wants to serve God to step forward at this time. We all had gifts imparted to us by the Holy Spirit at the time we got saved. These gifts where given to us for the edification (uplifting) of the congregation. Many who received years of teaching, nurturing, and perfecting their spiritual gifts have chosen to leave the fellowship and exercise those same gifts elsewhere. Therefore, for clarity sake I am asking those willing to work to STEP-UP and not STEP-OUT. There is a saying "Give Back to the Community" which should also apply to the "Faith Community."

As we continue to develop new strategies in moving YMT forward in this new church age, let us not forget those who have served down through the years. We appreciate all of your sacrifices and service to the Lord.
"Lord Revive in 2025 is our prayer. Bless the works of our hearts and hands!"
In Hymn # 18 verse 4 the songwriter says:
Revive us again, fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled wi th fire from above.
Hallelujah, thine the glory, Hallelujah Amen!
Hallelujah, Thine the glory, Revive us again.
