Rev. Glenda W. Johnson
Rev. Glenda Waller Johnson was born in Edgecombe County, North Carolina. She was raised in Princeville, North Carolina. She graduated from Tarboro High School and attended Edgecombe Community College where she majored in Early Childhood Development and later enrolled in Office Practices. She is married and has two sons.
Rev. Johnson accepted her calling into ministry during December 2003 and preached her initial sermon under the leadership of Rev. Nicholas O’Neal in April 2004. She was later ordained a Local Deacon in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She is very active in her church and was very instrumental in organizing the YMT Tutorial Program where she served as Director for several years. She was also a member of YMT Praise Team and Chair of Women’s Fellowship. She has been very instrumental as the Advisor for YMT Women’s Fellowship and is currently the advisor for Youth and Young Adults and Class Leaders. Rev. Johnson is also a Pray Intercessor for the Pastor and her church family.
Rev. Johnson is a very gifted and organized person and gives all the glory to God. She is a very humble and kind person. If you are feeling down, she always has a word of encouragement or she will say something funny to make you laugh She is a Holy Ghost filled woman of God who loves the Lord and believes in doing God’s will regardless of the cost. One of her favorite scripture is Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."
