Reverend Deon Davis is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina. He was educated in the Brunswick County School System and upon graduation, attended Southeastern College in Whiteville, North Carolina, majoring in Early Childhood Education. Rev. Davis grew up in a Christian home; he joined Hoopers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Leland, North Carolina, were he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was later baptized under the leadership of Rev. John T. Simpson.
In 1988, Rev. Davis relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he became a member of Young Missionary Temple in 1989. Rev. Davis was called into ministry in 2004, and delivered his initial sermon on June 26, 2005, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Edward E. Thomas. On July 14, 2011, Rev. Davis was ordained a Local Deacon by Bishop Thomas L. Hoyt, Jr., at the 139th Session of the Carolina Region Conference, which was held in Charleston, South Carolina.
Rev. Davis currently serves in the following capacities: Male Choir, Worship & Praise Team, Ministerial Staff, Men's Fellowship, and Youth Bible Study teacher.
Rev. Davis enjoys praising God through songs. His most inspiring and comforting scripture is John 3:16 "For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
